Nicosia or Lefkosia - Lefkara Village

Nicosia or Lefkosia is roughly at the center of Cyprus. It became capital in the 11th century AD. Today it blends its historic pass brilliantly with a bustle of a modern city. The heart of the city, enclosed by 16th century Venetian walls, is dotted with museums, ancient churches and mediaeval buildings. Yet this old heart is split in two, leaving Nicosia or Lefkosia the only capital city in the world to remain divided by Turkish force.
We will visit the handicraft center ( traditional folk art), the Green Line, the Venetian walls, the Famagusta Gate, the statue of Liberty, the Archbishop’s Palace and the shopping center with the newly restored Laiki Yitonia (an example of an old Cypriot neighborhood). In the afternoon, on the way back, we shall visit the famous village of Lefkara known for its handmade lace and silverware.

Mountain Villages

Discover the true heart of Cyprus with a visit to the timeless mountain villages. Our first stop is to Omodos, a wine- producing village. You have the opportunity to visit "Lino", a winery of 120 years old, where you may see how wine was made in Cyprus a century ago. Then some time will be given to explore the village square with its small traditional cafes and little white houses.
We proceed via the beautiful village of Platres for a short break and then Kakopetria, another picturesque traditional village. After lunch we drive to Lania with its distinctive, well preserved, Cypriot traditional style, to admire the painting studios!
