See here some examples of the most popular private excursions: Paphos and Geroskipou village(from Limassol) A pleasant journey via Phassouri plantations rich in citrus and lemon blossoms to the birth place of Venus the Goddess of Love and Beauty who according to the ancient Greeks was born in Cyprus near Paphos. Continue on to Geroskipou village to visit a traditional Cypriot house of the 18th century and then the church of St. Paraskevi with its beautiful frescos of the 13th and 15th century. Then on our way to Paphos sights we pass by St. Solomoni Catacomb, city centre of Paphos and we reach the Tomb of the Kings an ancient graveyard of the 3rd century BC where the rich governors of the island were buried. Later on we drive down to the picturesque harbor lined with local fishing boats and colorful open air cafes. Here you may enjoy your lunch break or stroll around the area. After lunch and as our last stop of the day we visit the famous mosaics of the House of Dionysos in the archeological park of Paphos. **NOTE: The above excursion can also be offered starting from any resort in Cyprus including Paphos with some alterations Traditional Villages of Troodos mountains(from all resorts) Our first stop will bring us to the beautiful wine producing village of Omodos where we have the opportunity to see Linos an old wine press 200 hundred years old and the church of the Holy Cross also time will be given for you to explore the village square with its small traditional Kafenion (cafes). Then via Platres mountain resort, we come to Troodos square for some wine tasting and for those who wish to try the local fire-water!! Continue on to Kakopetria village for a stroll in the narrow alleys of the old part and the visit to Podithou church included in the UNESCO list as a world sight. Enjoy your lunch break in Lofou village a protected area by the Antiquities Department to preserve its traditional character and feeling as it has for the last 500 years!! Doros village and a family factory of traditional Cypriot sweets will be our last stop. Complete tour of the capital Nicosia(from all resorts) Nicosia the last divided capital in the world is situated roughly in the centre of the island. The old and traditional part is enclosed within the Venetian Walls of the 16th century. We drive through Nicosia passing by the areas of the presidential palace arriving to the old part by Famagusta gate to see the Independence monument the Archbishopric Palace and St. John's cathedral. We continue with a walk in the old part reaching Laiki Yitonia and Ledras street visiting the Levention museum which will give us an idea of the eventful history of the capital. After lunch we will proceed to the checkpoint of Nicosia to enter the occupied part controlled by the Turkish army since 1974. There we visit the restored Buyuk Khan (big Inn) a motel of the 18th century functioning as a handicraft centre and also St. Sofia gothic cathedral of the 13th century.
